Meet Fred Bear Gives Comfort!  Fred Bear makes it all better - isn't he sweet?   I used the layout from The Paper Players Challenge #74 and I started by stamping Fred in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After coloring him with Copic markers, I cut him out and layered him over the Oval Open Scallop Doily die-namics.  The papers are Stella & Rose Hattie by My Mind's Eye.  Such a perfect little set for lifting the spirit of a friend who is under the weather.  Love it!

Be sure to hop on over to Kim's blog for a list of all the designers playing along today.  Lots of eye candy is waiting for you!

Today we are introducing 4 new card kits, which I have to say, make it SO easy to whip up a card in no time at all.  Taylor has picked fabulous patterned papers, coordinating cardstock and ribbon and embellishments for each kit and you are going to want them all, trust me!  The kit I'm using today is Echo Park Times & Seasons - which includes:
  • 10 solid colored cardstock card bases
  • 10 neutral cardstock image panels
  • envelopes
  • patterned paper
  • ribbon
  • KaiserCraft rhinestones or pearls
Each kit is packaged in a Petite Storage Case and are only $14.95.  What is a Petite Storage Case you ask?  Well, let me just tell you how cool this new storage is!  It's similar to the TE Mini Binder Box, but it's thinner and will hold SIX petite stamp sets.  It's also perfect to store your 6x6 paper packs and scrap pieces in!

I've made a card with a new Petite set called Sky's the Limit, which also comes with coordinating Taylored Dies!  This set is part of the new line of stamps called Embracing Grace, illustrated by Emily Burger.  I stamped the balloon in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with Copic markers.  I used the balloon die to cut out the image and then added a few clouds, which are also part of the die set.  So fun!  The layout is  TESC150.

Here's a peek at the dies I used today:

The rest of the Baker's Dozen have more goodies for you, so stop on by and see:

Happy Teasers day!  MFT is kicking it off this week with an amazing Who's That Girl & Who's That Guy set called May I Have This Dance?  I went crazy with some paper piecing on this one.  I stamped the image multiple times on Choice Buttercream cardstock and patterned papers from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Breeze and then cut and layered the images.  I added a little shading with some Copic markers as well.  See that amazingly gorgeous flower??  That's the soon to be released Fringed Perennial Flower Die-namics.  It's FABULOUS!  I also added the Skyline Border Die-namics to the bottom of the card and then used the new Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics for the sentiment tag on the left.  So fun!

Good morning everyone!  It's day one for TE sneak peeks and we have some super cute ideas for the New Year using various calendar products available at the TE store.  I've made a page for January using Moka Kristie, which is part of the Moka collection illustrated by Nancy McKinney.  TE has lots of Moka images and you would be able to make an entire Moka calendar!

I stamped Kristie in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers.  I've also used the Frame It Up 1 die to create a fun little background for her to stand out over.  The pearly accents were made using a Cream Pearl Pen.

Here's a side view of how the calendar stand sits.  The Desktop Calendar Set is similar to the CD style calendars, but these cases allow more room for both the calendar and your stamped artwork. The set includes one case and one set of 12 pre-printed calendar pages for $5.95.  Case size is 4.37" x 7.52" x 0.32" and the insert size is 4.21" x 7.24"

Here are the Taylored Dies I used today:

MFT Creative Chat - Creative Space

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:

Show us your desk.  How do you have things set up, and why?
What are your "go-to" tools?  Tell us what you can't live without.

Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge and get ready to delve into the minds of our creative team.

Welcome to my little crafting space!

My crafty part of the house is in our upstairs loft, right next to my daughter's room - you can see her ever-growing artwork mosaic on her doors.  We bought this hutch and office desk a few years ago when my papercrafting supplies were starting to take over and overflow everywhere when I just had a computer desk.  I LOVE this desk and it has so many drawers and compartments that I have lots of room for my supplies to grow into.  In the photo above, you can see the little shelf up in the hutch that hangs between the two doors and in the little nooks, I keep my acrylic blocks, and little odds and ends.  On top of the shelf is my ribbon and 6x6 papers.  All of the things I use most are right there within arms reach, so let me show you a few of my favorite "go-to" tools.

First up are my ink pads and Copic markers - if you visit my blog lots, you know almost every image is colored with Copics and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I picked up these little Quickutz storage boxes at Overstock.com a while ago and when I went to buy more, I found out they were discontinued!  NO!!

To the right of my computer are all my dies, stamp cleaning pads, design team stamps for the month, and then of course all my scissors!  I have separate scissors for ribbon, paper, foam tape, and everything else.  Keeping a separate pair of scissors for ribbon keeps the blades sharp and you won't get frayed edges.  Paper really will dull a scissor blade, so you don't want to mix the two.

In the pull-out drawer where a normal person would put their computer keyboard, I have my Scor-Pal, which is SO handy for making all sorts of different projects.  I have the self-healing pad in the tray where I do all my gluing and assembly.

Right above the drawer are a couple of things I use.  First is my Janome Sew Mini, which I'm using more and more.  I wasn't a sewer before, so I'm still learning how to keep those stitches straight and occasionally the tension gets all wonky and I get strange effects, but I'm learning.

Next to the sewing machine is my Big Shot, which I use for EVERY card.  It's perfect for all those Die-namics dies that I'm collecting and apparently this beast needs to be dusted.  LOL!

Last is my Carl Cutter, which is the best purchase I made for a cutter.  I LOVE it!  I used to mass produce cards and it cuts several sheets of cardstock at once.  Now I just use it for single cuts, but they are smooth and perfect.

I hope you enjoyed my little tour and now I'm off to make a mess of things and create!

Thanks for stopping by!

TSG132 - Inspiration Challenge

Hello again!  It's been ages since I've had my act together enough been able to participate in a TSG challenge and this week's challenge is gorgeous!  Look at these colors!

I was definitely inspired by the blues, greens, and beige and now I think I just want to fall right in and take a nap!

I started with the MOJO216 sketch and then grabbed some Lost & Found Breeze papers by My Mind's Eye along with Make a Wish and got to it. I stamped the cupcakes in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copic markers, and then cut them out to pop them up over the scallopy circles.  Such a fun and quick card - loved this challenge!

Hop on over to the TSG blog for a list of all the Trendsetters participating in this week's challenge and find yourself inspired too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 145

Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), and I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog on Saturday. So, as long as your card is linked by 10 PM Friday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC145 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

I'm definitely in that Christmas spirit this week, so I made a Christmas card using Wings of Joy, which I haven't inked up at all since last year!  That's just criminal.

I stamped the tree in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored it with Copic markers.  I ran the Choice Snow White circle through the Big Shot with the Lots of Dots Impression Plate to make it look like snow behind the popped up tree.  For the snowflake, I stamped the image in Memento Angel Pink and then used a Winter Wonderland Snowflakes die to cut it out.  A little button and some Ladybug Doodle Twine to finish it.

The Sweet Sunday Stampers have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:

Warmest Wishes

Good morning!  I'm loving all of the Christmas projects around blogland and they have inspired me to get going on Christmas!  This cute little girl is  Winter Hannah from By LORi Designs and I've put her with the little Lollipop Christmas Tree - just perfect together.  I colored the images with Copic markers and cut the image panel with a rectangle Nestabilities die.  The layout is SC359 at Splitcoaststampers and I added a few snowflakes with rolled roses.  Kind of a fun and different combination, don't you think?

I hope those of you in the US enjoyed your Thanksgiving - naturally I have eaten way too much and now I'm just a lazy girl on the sofa today.  Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for stopping by -
Karen

paper: maraschino (bazzill), choice buttercream (taylored expressions), season's greetings (echo park)

For my set of tags, I used Woodland Winter for the main image and the Jingle all the Way sentiment is from Banner Holidays, which coordinates with the Banner Day 1 Die, but in this case, I used the sentiment with one of the Blimps & Banners Dies - love how versatile these Banner sentiment sets are!  I started by stamping the squirrel in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves Ink.

The tag base is made from the Frame it Up 1 Die and then I layered the banner over a Winter Wonderland Snowflakes Die.  I tried something new for me with these tags too - a Viva Decor Pearl Pen!  I've always drooled over Danielle and Sankari's mad pearl accents skills and the Viva Decor Pearl Pen made it SO easy to add some fun little accents around my image.  Taylor has a fun video on this product and how to use it on her blog, HERE.  I used Ladybug Doodle Twine for the bow and threaded it through the cool metal wide eyelet.

Taylor has made it SUPER easy to get started on your tags for this Holiday season with a fun selection of Tags & Tag-a-Longs kits.  Each package contains the essentials needed to create your personalized tags - tag die cuts, jumbo eyelets, and a full roll of Doodle Twine!  Hop on over to Taylor's blog for all the juicy details.

There She Goes Sneak Peeks | Day THREE

Torico is in the mood to make winter all warm and cheery. She has illustrated a fabulous set that will keep you in stitches or get you in the mood to make gingerbread houses and sugar cookies. The set includes hearts, stars, and snowflakes to create a one of a kind snowman or holiday tree. This set also includes six dies – so warm up your die cutting machine and let the baking begin. What set wouldn’t be complete without a few sentiments to add to your winter projects?

Warmest Wishes is a 4x4 set that includes a total of 23 stamps and six dies and will sell for $31.50.

I absolutely love how versatile this set is - you can add all sort of fun accents to each image, like buttons, hearts, snowflakes or stars, and when I sat down to ink it up, tags came to mind.  How perfect would these be to attach to teacher gifts?  I used the Labels 11 for the basic shape of the tag and then added a little extra length at the bottom, which I used a corner rounder on.  I cut out the die cut shapes in Choice Buttercream cardstock, stamped the images in Memento Rich Cocoa and then I added all the accents for each image.  The basic layout of the tag is Jen Del Muro's November SFYTT.

Here's a look at each tag - you can click on the image to get a larger view.

Would you like to win the new Warmest Wishes stamp sets? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post. You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday November 26th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.
